Country Regional Network
The CRN ensures the safe movement of people and goods throughout the regions of NSW, and links Sydney to many of the State’s important regional centres.
UGLRL is proud to be entrusted with the operations and maintenance of this important piece of rail infrastructure.
The CRN spans a vast area across NSW and includes townships like Armidale, Bathurst, Cobar, Dubbo, Griffith, Narrabri, Orange, Queanbeyan, Tamworth, West Wyalong and many others.
The CRN includes 2,386 kilometres of operational rail lines that are utilised for passenger and freight services. In addition, there are 3,139 kilometres of non-operational line and 27,000 hectares of land and infrastructure that require upkeep. This portfolio includes 1,312 level crossings (300 active), 1,200 property assets (including 356 heritage sites), 600 rail under bridges and 384 over bridges.
